In The Spotlight
Faith Wolfley

Faith Wolfley, USA Boxing official in the Allegheny Mountain Association, has been selected as an official who will be a referee and judge at the 2007 USA Boxing Midwestern Trials. The trials will be held in Cincinnati April 1 - 8. Because this is an Olympic year for all the USA Boxing qualifying tournaments, there are three additional national trials that help the elite athletes throughout the country qualify for a chance to be on the Olympic team.

In order to be chosen as a delegated official at this event, you must be a Level 3 official, which is the highest level you can accomplish as a national official. Once an official reaches Level 3, there are opportunities to become an international official in International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA). AIBA officials are used for officiating duels within the United States, as well as international competition. These AIBA officials nominate and select the officials that are chosen for national events.

Wolfley has an extensive background in martial arts and athletic competition, including being a two-time AAU national Karate champion and co-captain of the United States Air Force Academy Karate team. She is an undefeated kickboxer, has competed in over 100 Karate tournaments, and has notable accomplishments in Olympic weightlifting and track and cross-country.

Wolfley currently trains athletes, martial artists and boxers at the Martial Arts & Sports Complex in Bridgeville, PA, which she owns and operates with her husband, Craig Wolfley, a 12-year NFL veteran and current Steelers' broadcaster.
