Cashing In On Crosby

New Pens' captain Sidney Crosby signed the richest contract in team history this summer, but The Kid's not the only one cashing in. Penguins' season ticket sales are at an all-time high and the organization figures to have an impressive revenue stream once "The House That Sid Built" opens in a few years in the form of a new arena.

The trend has gone beyond hockey, however. Dany Murray, a French Canadian from Montreal, owns and operates the online Sidney Crosby 87 Store, where he sells Crosby memorabilia. Its not greasy kid stuff, either - the lead item is a $40,000 Crosby hockey card. At press time, there were 33 items going for over a grand apiece.

Desperate Point Guard?

Everyone knows the Wedding of the Summer took place between NBA Champion Tony Parker and TV beauty Eva Longoria. The newlyweds' reception was held on July 7 and may have sparked yet another TV-NBA romance. Parker introduced Longoria's Desperate Housewives co-star Teri Hatcher to fellow NBA guard Baron Davis of the Golden State Warriors, and it appears the two had an instant connection.

"Baron and Teri really hit it off," said a friend. "They talked and danced all night and had a great time. They couldn't seem to get enough of each other!"

Later that month, the duo was spotted together again at the Hollywood eatery Pace.
