Leading The Way
Pirates Managers

John Russell will guide the 2008 Bucs as the 38th manager in the club's illustrious history. It shouldn't take long for him to move into 34th place on the Pirates' all-time win list, as three former Bucco managers-Honus Wagner, Spud Davis and Bill Burwell-won one game each in their "tenure." Five skippers won more than 500 games as captain of the Pirates' ship, including two-Fred Clarke and Danny Murtaugh-won over 1,000.
